Aromatic essential oils can be used for indoor incense, deodorization, skin care and beauty, bathing, aromatherapy massage, etc. Pure essential oils are a highly concentrated and volatile substance that can prove irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. These oils should not come in contact with skin when undiluted, please remember to dilute oils before use. The most commonly used aromatic essential oil is carrier oil. For normal to dry skin, opt for sweet almond oil, apricot peach seed oil and wheat germ oil. This moisturises but does not leave tan undesired greasy effect. For those with normal or oily skin, opt for refreshing grapeseed oil, evening primrose oil and sunflower oil. Among these, grapeseed is the most popular refreshing base oil as it not only feels pleasant, but also forms a smooth protective film on the skin. In addition, it does not feel sticky when used in summer. However, note that it is unstable and thus should be used as soon as possible after opening. Refrain from buying products in bulk. Squeeze just a few drops of edible vitamin E oil to reduce the chance of oxidative deterioration. If you’ve got dry skin or simply want to boost a moisturizing effect, opt for a base oil with a higher consistency, such as avocado oil. Jojoba oil is the most popular. However sesame oil, olive oil, peanut oil are also often used to moisturise. Carrier oils, high-consistency carrier oils tend to leave a sticky residue so when using these carrier oils, you may wish to mix them with other vegetable oils, such as grapeseed oil (80%) and jojoba oil (20%); an optimal blending ratio. It is suitable for neutral skin during winter. You may like to use different ratios and moisturizing base oils to perfect an oil unique to the condition of your skin. The baby oils and lotions you typically find contain mineral oil, petrolatum and chemical emulsifiers. These lotions or baby oils are not suitable as base ingredients for the preparation of aromatic essential oils. Mineral oil not only lacks essential oils, it also forms a barrier between human cells and oil molecules, so that the active ingredients are unable to enter human cells and are rendered useless. It is a relatively high-grade organic vegetable base oil and a product that many whom desire a pollution-free and high-quality life are generally more willing to choose. However, due to the high cost of organically cultivated plants, chemical solvents and additives are not added. Consumers can make different choices depending on their personal financial ability and demand for quality. |
